About This Event

The women of the Bible are most often portrayed as supporting characters, if at all, even while they lived lives as dramatic and meaningful as their male counterparts. The Torah: A Women’s Commentary, lifts their narratives out of obscurity for exploration and evaluation. In this class, we will look at various Torah portions and study the commentaries, interpretations, and poetry especially collected in A Women’s Commentary to illuminate the lives of our ancient mothers. We will explore how women’s scholarship and perspectives challenge us with new views of familiar stories.
